When a bunker survey is requested, it is necessary to take and record all innages / ullages, temperatures, and pull representative samples from all bunker tanks. All measurements are taken prior to the cargo transfer and then again prior to the vessel's departure. IFO-180 CST, MGO is available at Chittagong. It is recommended to use JAMUNA for bunkering. Local bunkering companies are available. Bunker supplier should not be allowed to deal with the vessel's official's prior supply of bunker. Dip sample should be taken during bunkering. The qualified and honest surveyor should be used during bunkering and surveyor should not board with bunker supplier barge. The required bunker is available at Chittagong port. Bunker (IFO, MGO) is available here and can be supplied during discharging/loading operation. The price depends subject to supplier and quality.

Bunker Survey Procedure Sample
Purpose
Bunkers are typically the largest contributor to the operational cost of a ship, with the physical transfer of fuel taking place thousands of miles away from the contracting offices. As neither the buyer nor the seller is present to witness the bunker quantity transfer and sampling procedures onboard, any post- delivery investigation on quantity shortage or sampling dispute is usually futile and inconclusive. Physical shortage, protest, demurrage, legal fees, management time and loss of good will inconvenience and stress all parties involved and add to the overall costs.
